TAXI METERS CANNOT BE GIVEN FREE OF COST DUE TO FINANCIAL RULES: GODINHO

Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho government cannot give digital meters free of cost to the taxi operators directly because of certain financial rules under which the government is bound.
Speaking to media, Godinho has said that taxi operators will have to pay the full amount, but once the meter is installed they have to fill a form and within 2 days the money will be credited back to their account.
He has further reminded the taxi operators that this is a special scheme that Goa government has done for them and that the government cannot break certain financial rules.
